產品描述
Description:
This product is used for the in vitro quantitative determination of C-peptide levels in human serum.
C-peptide is a single-chain polypeptide consisting of 31 amino acids. It is produced during the cleavage of proinsulin into C-peptide and insulin, which are secreted into the bloodstream in equimolar concentrations.
Reference Interval for Normal Serum C-Peptide Levels: 1.1 ng/mL - 4.4 ng/Ml
Applications:
1.C-peptide levels reflect the function of pancreatic β-cells more accurately: After entering the bloodstream, most insulin is inactivated in the liver, whereas C-peptide is minimally taken up by the liver. Additionally, its half-life is longer than that of insulin, and it is directly excreted in the urine by the kidneys, unaffected by exogenous insulin.
2.C-peptide better reflects insulin secretion: Since C-peptide is not affected by insulin antibodies, measuring C-peptide is a more accurate reflection of insulin secretion in patients receiving insulin therapy, compared to measuring insulin itself.
3.C-peptide measurement can assist in evaluating early pancreatic β-cell function in Type 1 diabetes.
4.Differential diagnosis of Latent Autoimmune Diabetes in Adults (LADA) vs. Type 2 diabetes.
